How to Replace A Fuel Injector?

Step 2. Loosen the screw of the high-pressure oil pipe at the injector pump end, then use a wrench to remove the screw at the cylinder head cover end of the high-pressure oil pipe.
Important: Do not force the high-pressure oil pipe to avoid bending or breaking it.
Step 3. Use a socket wrench to loosen the two nuts that secure the injector, remove the cover plate above the injector, and then remove the injector.
Please note the following:
- If the injector is difficult to pull out, gently pry the connection of the return pipe with the handle of a socket wrench to make it easier to remove the injector.
- When removing the injector, be aware that there is a heat shield and copper washer underneath. The heat shield is at the bottom, followed by the copper washer, which may have two or more layers depending on the machine model.
- If the heat shield and copper washer remain in the injector hole after removing the injector, reinsert the injector and tighten it before pulling out the heat shield.
- Check if the rubber edge of the heat shield is damaged, cracked, or burnt. If so, replace it with a new one.
- If there is no damage, place the heat shield and copper washers in the correct order on the new injector.
Step 4. Align the locator pin on the injector with the locator groove on the cylinder head and slowly insert the injector into the hole.
Step 5. Install the injector cover plate with the smooth side facing down. Then tighten the two securing nuts.
Step 6. Reinstall the high-pressure oil pipe and tighten the nuts, then tighten the high-pressure oil pipe nut at the injector pump end.
Step 7. Finally, reconnect the return pipe and secure the pipe clamp.
